This forum is for families, that are in need of a RV or Camper to utilize as temporary housing, to discuss what happened, where they are now, and what they are doing to start rebuilding their lives. I believe that much can be accomplished by discussing the ways that you have attempted to assist yourselves. You must all be very frustrated by the "Red Tape" that is preventing FEMA from delivering their motor homes. I applaud you for reaching out and finding ways to get the help you desperately need. ~ Can You Help Me To Help You? ~ I NEED HELP! I created a flyer and posted a printable copy on my "About Us" page. If you would be willing to print a few and post them locally, it would assist me to reach both RV owners AND families, like yourselves, who are desperately trying to "go home". If you have an idea to help me reach out to individuals in the RV community that would be willing to help you, let me know. I know you all need housing NOW, and as the days go by it is getting harder for you to manage. I have spent many, many hours reaching out to potential donors trying to get you help you need as fast as possible, and it is paying off.... but, I am willing to do more.... let me know! ~ World Vision Hurricane Katrina Response ~

I'm a single mother who needs a RV for a home and for transportation i have a 7 year old son and a nineteen old Dorthea also she has a 3 mouth old baby. Can you help us? if you do on good,good will be do on to you!'

Hi , Well I am not sure where to begin. I am from Gulfport Ms and my apartment is now gone. My daughter and i lost everything. I have applied with Fema but no word yet. My self and daughter are with family at this time but , they are having to move and they have 2weeks to be out of this home because of the strom a tree has hit it and it has to be jacked back up and the owner is selling it . Please i am in very much need of a place for my child and daughter. I am 31 and my daughter is 10. We have no where eles to go and no where else to turn.

I have four children and dont have any where to live i was staying in a shelter and now staying whith my family. i need some where for me and my children to stay. please help because i herd my family said they where ready for us to leave. please help please help

and now live at 119 east 21 street Reserve La,70084 if i was given i have my own truck and have some where to put it.
have done a little work will give money if needed

80 year old parents in need of temp trailer to place on
their property in Mandeville LA. Dad is main caregiver for mom who is disabled. While waiting for Fema trailer they are living with EX sis in law. Desparate need for housing to have some semblance of normalcy. This is especially devastating at their ages. Please pray the Fema trailer is delivered soon or that someone can loan them a trailer till Fema does. Blessing to all,

I really need a place to live. Do not get me wrong.I am a victim of the hurricane. Now I am a victim of FEMA. They use the media to act like they are concern when they really are not. We can not help that the hurricane came to New Orleans or Louisiana. But this is our taxes we been working for years working for us. Where is the trailors? Where is the compassion? and still where is the inital check? Still looking while in a hotel wondering- When? and Why?

for the last 3 months my life has been one that i can't even explain, i don't feel that people would understand unless they went through the loss, pain, and memories that torment me night after night. the fear i have now of starting over and having it taken away by i don't know what this time. i fight myself daily to get up and do what i have to do, go to work and believe that it will get better. somehow one day i'll look back at this with some kind of understanding of why. i really don't know why i posting this, maybe someone will be feeling the same, and they will know that they are not alone. i have some faith on days, my dream is to go back and live with the soul that n.o. gave me, the feeling of strenth i had there. its a part of my life i will never forget and long to have bave bagh123-*54yrszxcvbhbfgh123-65/876543211

Where does one begin? I have a family of 5. I had a baby 3 days before the storm and lost everything except 3 days worth of clothes for each family member. I just recently learned that my landlord is not going to rebuild, and we did not have flood insurance. It has been 3 months and still waiting for a mobile home from FEMA. My house was demolished today, so we were offically considered homeless today.! I don't know what we will do. We have no credit to buy anything and the market has sky rocketed. The SBA said if we do get a loan it would only be up to 40,000. SO that would not be enough to rebuild. We do not want to relocate as my husband and I were both born and raised here. We are a young couple with 3 boys that are now homeless.

I am also a Katrina victim. I live in Bogalusa, LA. I didn't know I had nine trees until they fell five hitting the house. As you know FEMA isn't helping. We were displaced for over a month and there are no places to rent here so we had to go back to the house. Its unstable. We have a FEMA roof that doesn't work and its leaking everywhere. There are more holes in the roof than in swiss cheese. FEMA said we had insuffecient damage. Its been estimated to over $20,000 damage to the home. I have been in EMS for 8 yrs you would think they would help. I have a 9 yr old son with asthma. My husband drives cross country so I can't do anything. I received a head injury on the job. I just want my family in a safe place. can you help with a camper? To the couple that was getting married, most of my wedding stuff was spared and you are wecome to it, and to the other families that lost everything, I still have MRE,s and water and maybe a few clothes NEEDY PEOPLE ONLY!

Thanks to those of you who have helped out already. I know God will bless you ten-fold for your generosity. Unfortunately, there are still many, many people who are still displaced and need housing. I myself need housing still. It's amazing to me that the goverment can go to third world contries with an abundance of help in many different areas but, here we are five months after the storm and the politics that new orleans and the surrounding areas have delt with for what may be centries, is still alive and kicking. Keeping the people at bay until they ( the politicians) can figure out who should take the blame for whatever happens leaving so many peoples lives in limbo. Please tell your goverment officials to s_ _ _ or get off the pot and help us to return to some kind of normalacy. Those of us that have no home, hotel room, or trailer because of it are tired of waiting for them to make a decision and in the mean time are in unsafe homes, my truck, which is my home is not an unusual thing. For many people its all they have left. And with no/very little help from FEMA its where we live. If you have the abiility to share a room or mobile home of any size, I beg yaw'll to please help.

IT IS 7 OF US MY DAD MY STEPMOM MY 3 LITTLE SISTERS AND MY 1 LITTLE BROTHER AND MYSELF I AM THE OLDEST SISTER BUT WE LOST OUR TRAILER MY DAD WAS RENTING TO OWN ON CHEF HWY WE HAVE PROOF IF THIS IS NOT BELIEVED SO WE ARE A PRETTY BIG FAMILY AND WE NEED AN RV THAT IS BIG ENOUGH TO SLEEP ALL OF US MY DAD CAN'T DO MUCH RIGHT NOW BECAUSE ALMOST ALL HIS CARPET TOOLS GOT STOLEN DURING HURRICANE KATRINA SO HIS LIVLY HOOD HAS BEEN SWIPED AWAY FROM HIM SO HOW CAN HE TAKE CARE OF HIS FAMILY AND RENT A PLACE THAT IS WHY WE TRIED TO TALK PEOPLE INTO SELLING US AN RV FOR WAY LESS THAN THEY HAD IT PRICED FOR BUT IT IS SO HORRIBLE HOW CRUEL PEOPLE ARE AT THIS DELICATE TIME WHEN THEY KNOW IF THEY WERE IN OUR SHOES THEY WOULD BE DOING THE SAME THING UNLESS THEY HAVE THE MONEY TO JUST GO ON WITH THIER LIFE SO PLEASE ANYONE WHO HAS A CLASS A RV PLEASE HAVE A HEART AND THINK IF YOU WERE IN OUR SHOES WHAT WOULD YOU WANT...
